Flooding in NSW Central West
The closure of major roads across the Central West of NSW, particularly around Parkes and Forbes, has delayed the movement of wool samples from regional wool stores to the Melbourne Laboratory for testing. Lengthy diversions around the flooded roads have lead to freight couriers missing interconnecting services, delaying delivery of some samples by 24 hours.
Upon arrival at the Melbourne laboratory, the testing of affected samples has been prioritised to help off-set the delay.
The delays are not expected to be prolonged, flood levels are expected to peak today, Thursday 3rd November 2022, after which routes will reopen.
