Key Test Data for September 2022
The monthly comparisons of Total Lots, Bales and Weight tested for September 2022 compared with the same period last season are:
-15.2%, -15.0% and -14.6% respectively.
Care should be taken with comparisons from September 2021 as there was one one less working day during September 2022 due to the unscheduled QE II Commemorative Public Holiday.
The progressive comparison of Total Lots, Bales and Weight tested for July 2022 to September 2022 compared with the same period last season are:
+0.4%, +0.1% and +0.2% respectively.
AWTA Ltd has tested 74.4 mkg (million kilograms) this season compared with 74.2 mkg for the equivalent period last season.

Shorn wool production increases as the run of good seasons continue
The Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee’s second forecast of shorn wool production for 2022/23 is 340 Mkg greasy, up 4.9% on 2021/22. The continuing La Niña conditions have set up a very positive spring season in key wool producing regions. The number of sheep shorn is expected to increase (up 4.7%) with the average cut per head maintained at 4.53 kg greasy.
